WTC’s Road To 10 Years ~A Letter From The Founder
“WE ARE 10”
~ A Message From WTC’s Founder & Director
This year Women That Care will celebrate 10 years as a mobile resource charity in the community. September 10th will mark the anniversary of our first initial meeting as Women That Care Inc.
In celebration of 10 years, our Founder and Director has taken a few moments to take us down memory lane to where we are today.
“In some ways it seems as if it was just yesterday that we met in my living room to discuss how we as women could come together and make a difference in the lives of others. After several meetings and figuring out exactly how to take on this huge task I distinctly remember our first official day of operations – we gathered all of the donations that we had collected, bagged them up and took them down town to Moore Square Park. With no direction except to give, we were able to serve people from all walks of life with toiletries, cleaning items, food, gently used clothing, prayers and lots of love. God took the little that we had and allowed us to serve multiple people, who in turn were grateful for our efforts. The rest is history and a journey that only God himself could anoint. 10 years later here we are serving at a capacity that we could never ever have imagined .
Today we stand in strength as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization serving the communities of Wake, Johnston and Franklin Counties. Our partnerships extend over 100 collaborative agencies and donors enabling Women That Care to be a pillar of relief for thousands of individuals across the Triangle. We could not do this without the committed volunteers, collaborative partners and donors that support our efforts. We are a small organization but continue to be mobile as we receive many requests for support and partnership from schools and local organizations across the Triangle .
We have earned a reputation of delivering on our promises of bringing relief through the services that we provide. As we celebrate our 10 years of commitment to the community, we invite you to visit our website weekly to journey with us as we highlight our team, sponsors, donors, volunteers and move. Stay updated with feature blog posts and be sure to stop by our new Gallery to get a glimpse of the work that we have been blessed to contribute over the last 10 years .
As I draw this moment of reflection to a close, I look back to the vision in 2011 with an overwhelming sense of gratitude of how our faith and trust in God has allowed WTC to be the Mobile Resource Center that we are today .
I look to the future with confidence that Women That Care‘s best years of making a difference in someone’s life are still ahead of us and we are excited about what is yet to come.”
